Sea Glass in a Silver Setting

I've been working on some commission pieces lately, alongside my new designs. One has led me to have another go at something I haven't done for a good while, namely stone setting. Or, in this case, sea glass setting. I haven't set any stones since I was going to evening classes at Leeds College of … Continue reading Sea Glass in a Silver Setting

auvergne landscapes: misty morning, domeyrat

We've been having an unusually misty spell of weather for the past few days, with very little sign of the sun. It's been keeping the temperatures down, and to be honest it can be a little dismal. On the plus side, it does make for some unusual and dramatic photographic opportunities. This is the castle … Continue reading auvergne landscapes: misty morning, domeyrat

The necklace has a centrepiece of three cognac coin beads, together with two tiny, irregular beads in dark cognac. It is completed by … Continue reading latest designs: delicate amber

weekly photo challenge: local (produce)

We've had very mixed fortunes in the garden this year. Some things, like the courgettes and squash, have done really well, producing far more than we could reasonably eat. Meanwhile, the potatoes were a bit of a disaster, and we've had no late fruiting raspberries at all. Today was a beautiful sunny autumn afternoon, and … Continue reading weekly photo challenge: local (produce)

latest designs: sea glass ring

My experiments with sea glass continue. Since I first posted about working with this lovely reclaimed material, I have completed some more pendants, and this silver band ring. I'm really rather pleased with the ring, and even though it is adjustable, I have taken the precaution of making it in my size, just in case! … Continue reading latest designs: sea glass ring
