October Landscape: Alwinton to Biddlestone

We’re well into autumn now, and it’s amazing how quickly the landscape is changing. I went on one of my favourite walks earlier this week, and it looked completely different from my last visit a couple of weeks ago.

I love the rich golds, reds, oranges, and bronzes that dominate at this time of year, and I was lucky to have (mostly) blue skies.

Individual trees, such as this horse chestnut, are looking stunning, and long shadows bring beauty to the most mundane of scenes.

The next few weeks will no doubt bring further changes, and a different sort of beauty.
