This lovely bottle green pendant is the latest addition to my SeaSong collection, which is where I showcase my sea glass and sea pottery designs.
This particular piece of glass came from one of my favourite little beaches on the East Neuk of Fife, Scotland.
It is bezel set in the usual way, but the silver backing has been pierced out with several different size drill bits, and I have deliberately chipped into the outer edge. The design was inspired by the fine lace-like traces of sea foam left on the beach by the retreating tide.
As with all my sterling silver and sea glass designs, this one carries a full UK hallmark from the Edinburgh Assay Office – you can just make it out on in the picture that shows the back of the pendant.
It is available now in my Etsy shop, together with another new design – this pretty pale blue sea glass pendant, with a crimped edge to the bezel.
I’ve been focusing on some hammered silver designs for the past few weeks, which I’ll be featuring once they get back from being hallmarked.
