August Landscape: Sheep and Hills

August has seen an end to the hot dry weather, and the landscape is starting to look much greener again. We’ve also seen some beautiful skies, with big dramatic clouds. This puffy formation over Simonside was a particular favourite.

There’s a definite feeling of changing seasons in the air. The nights are drawing in noticably now, the hedgerows are full of fruit, and the swallows are starting to gather on the wires. It won’t be long until this scene changes again, and wears it autumn colours of russet, orange and brown.

I assume that the sheep are much more comfortable with the cooler weather, although it’s difficult to tell from their extemely disgruntled expressions.

  1. So happy about the slightly cooler weather, mostly because I don’t sweat like crazy anymore 😀 The evenings are beautifully pink again, which I love and it’s not yet really rainy. Those sheep are so cute!
