I’ve been busy with commissions and (whispers) my other job lately, but I have been able to complete a couple of new designs, the first of which is this pendant.
It features two polished silver magpies, set against a contrasting textured and oxidised background. It measures 0.8cm wide by 2.5cm long.
I’ve made a few of these small rectangular pieces featuring birds and animals recently. This particular one obviously refers to the traditional rhyme about magpies that starts, “One for sorrow, two for joy” but it was also inspired by a beautiful song called ‘Magpie’ by folk group The Unthanks.
The necklace is available in my online shop.
