Silence

Walks in the countryside around our house are usually fairly quiet affairs. Once out of the village, I often don’t see a soul, unless you count the rooks and sheep. Other than the wind, they are often the only sound to be heard too.

I went for a walk in the snow this afternoon, and as I was getting near home, there was a moment of perfect stillness and quiet. The sun was just dipping down, and touching the snow with gold. Even the sheep didn’t make a sound. Silence.

’Silence’ is the prompt for this week’s photo challenge, and you can find more silent pictures over on the Daily Post blog.

  1. I walk every day. This time of year, I walk on noisy city streets. Even on the quieter neighbourhood streets, there is an incessant hum of the city noises. I envy your walks.
