Despite the very best efforts of the French weather, we managed to move as planned last week. It was touch and go for a while with the removal van in the snow, but all ended well, and we are now safely settled in our new home in Northumberland.
We left with a lovely reminder of the area; this gorgeous little raku ermine, a gift from our neighbours. He’s sitting on our mantelpiece now, but he looked very much a home in the snow before we left.
I meant to take some final photographs of the house and garden before we left, but the day was a little fraught, to say the least, and by the time we left is was going dark and snowing again, and we just wanted to get safely down the hill before it froze over.
I’m currently unpacking boxes, and wishing that I’d been a little more careful about listing the contents, but we managed to get out for a walk today, and I’ll share some pictures of our new surroundings in the next couple of days.
Glad you made it safely and welcome back to the UK! 🙂
The ermine is beautiful. Glad to hear you move went well.
Enjoy your new adventure.
Welcome home and nest well … the rest of us will wait until you are ready
