We’ve had very mixed fortunes in the garden this year. Some things, like the courgettes and squash, have done really well, producing far more than we could reasonably eat. Meanwhile, the potatoes were a bit of a disaster, and we’ve had no late fruiting raspberries at all.
Today was a beautiful sunny autumn afternoon, and we harvested our apples, which have had their best year since we planted them. I also found a single walnut at the foot of our small self-seeded tree.
We don’t have much left to harvest now, just some leeks and kale really, which we will pick from throughout the winter.
There are many more interpretations of the theme ‘local’ over on the Daily Post blog.
Excellent choice for challenge and lovely photo. It’s been our best apple year too!
Home grown or local food, the world needs more of it. Nice representation for the photo challenge.
Your photos encourage me to do better. Thank -you.
