weekly photo challenge: an autumn treat

I know that I’ve posted quite a few autumn pictures recently as part of my Monday Verse, but the colours really are so extraordinary and spectacular this year that I couldn’t resist sharing a few more.

It’s been so beautiful for the past few weeks. The forest floor is carpeted with copper-coloured beech leaves, and at times the hills have looked like they’re on fire with the gold, red and orange of the trees.

It’s a display that will be over very soon. It’s windy at the moment, and the sky is full of tumbling, swirling, falling leaves. Some of the trees are already bare, and the others probably won’t be far behind. I’m making sure I enjoy this visual treat whilst it lasts.

You can see what treats other bloggers have been enjoying over on The Daily Post blog.

  1. Autumn has always been a favorite time of year for me, too. Lately we’ve had so much hazy grey, however, I feel I’ve missed the glory of the leaves. Your photos bring them home in living colour!
