weekly photo challenge: colours of the rainbow

The photo challenge this week urges us to post a photo or set of photos in all the colours of the rainbow.  I do have a rather splendid photo taken in Venice, which features a rainbow flag, but unfortunately I already used it in the ‘orange’ challenge, and I felt it would be cheating to feature it again. So I’ve gone for the seven photos, each with one rainbow colour, option.

The title of the challenge is actually ROY G. BIV, which I think is supposed to help you to remember the colours. It’s not something I’ve come across before – maybe it’s an American thing? I’m more familiar with the mnemonic ‘Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain’. Either way, you can see more rainbow photographs, and possibly even some photographs of rainbows, on The Daily Post blog.

  1. When I told my husband what the challenge was this week (bearing in mind that he has been based in the US for 25 years) he said ‘what? Do they mean Richard Of York’ … I was amused to read your comment and love your collage of pictures 🙂
