
A few days ago, I posted a picture of the buds on our quince tree.
After a few days of warm sunshine, they have opened in spectacular fashion. The tree is smothered in blossom, which not only looks wonderful, but also has a very heady, jasmine-like scent.
We’ll have to do a bit of selective weeding-out of the fruit if they all develop, otherwise the poor little tree will be weighed down to the ground.
The response to this week’s photo challenge, Forces of Nature, has been very varied, ranging from dramatic storms and tides, to tiny seedlings pushing up through the earth. Take a look over on the Daily Post blog.
A Quince tree is on my wish list once I have a garden again … I love the blossom and adore the fruit which the French embrace so much more readily than the English, in general I think
