It started snowing last week, and it hasn’t really stopped for any length of time since. We have an old millstone on our terrace, which has been turned into a table, and it has a layer of snow 15cm deep sitting on top of it.
The terrace does look beautiful coated in a smooth, deep blanket of white snow, with a backdrop of powder-dusted trees, but it’s not very inviting. The days when we sat there sipping chilled rosé seem very far off.
The whole garden, and the objects in it, have been transformed and made mysterious by the snow.
