We had some friends to stay last week, and we collected them from, and returned them to, Montpellier airport. It’s about a 3.5 hour drive for us down the A75. It’s a fair way there and back in a day, but I always enjoy it. It’s a straightforward route, usually not too busy, and it takes in some truly spectacular scenery through the Parc National des Cévennes and across the Millau Viaduct.
It’s a journey that’s as much about the travelling as it is about the destination.
These photographs were taken at about this time last year, when we were heading home from a short break in Provence. They really were taken on the move – through the car window as we crossed the viaduct.
That sky looks unreal and more like a painting. Breathtaking.
