We’ve had a few days of warm, fine weather, and jewellery making has taken a back seat whilst we crack on with the garden. Everything seems to need digging, sowing and planting at the same time.
However, I have made time to do a piece of work for our neighbour, Cécile. She is, amongst other things, a talented ceramicist, and she makes absolutely gorgeous sculptures of animals in raku. She asked me to add some silver wire to one of her polar bear pieces, for an exhibition that she has coming up in Brioude.
It was a bit of a fiddly job, and very nerve wracking working on such a beautiful piece of someone else’s work. I certainly kept the cats well out of the way whilst I was doing it! It was finally finished this morning, and delivered back to Cécile.
