This is the first year we’ve been at La Petite Maison during February and March. We’ve had some really warm and sunny days, when it felt like spring was just around the corner, but we’ve also had a fair bit of snow. Through all of this, the primroses on a sunny bank next to the drive have kept bravely flowering.
There is something very cheerful about the sight of the buttery yellow flowers amongst the remains of last year’s dead leaves.
These dainty little primrose flower earrings will likewise cheer up the dullest of days. They have been cut from sheet silver, and gently hammered into a slight concave shape. They have been polished to give them a shine, but the finished surface is not completely smooth, and shows the mark of the hammer, so they catch the light very prettily. The centres of the flowers are tiny drilled holes.
